It finally looks as if Lexus is ready to start clearing the air and adding credibility to the mounting rumors that a compact luxury crossover, dubbed the “NX”, is inching closer to production.  The LF-NX will make its world premiere at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) on September 10th, 2013, and previews a forthcoming crossover from Lexus to be based on the same architecture as the Toyota RAV-4.  The concept vehicle features highly distinctive, aggressive styling while keeping true to the L-Finesse design language.

Notably, the LF-NX has some trick exterior styling, especially with rugged, black wheel arch protection, steeply-raked windscreen, and a rear profile more befitting of a sports coupe.  Inside, the LF-NX previews new interface technology and uses touch-sensitive electrostatic switches (similar to the 2014 IS’ temperature controls) and a new touch pad Remote Touch Interface.

Although no solid specs were given for the LF-NX’s powertrain, Lexus has stated that it will use a next-generation hybrid system tuned to benefit an SUV.
