2013 Lexus LS Unveiled – It’s All Here

Monday night at a very exclusive showing at the Metreon in San Francisco, Lexus unveiled what might actually be the most luxurious sports sedan in the world – The Lexus LS F Sport.  In true Lexus fashion, designers never actually halted development of the LS flagship sedan.  Case in point, the LS Chief Engineer was recently quoted saying:

“Even if the LS is called ‘the best,’ that’s really just one moment in time.  From that moment on, you have to go about creating the next car.”

It’s apparent that Lexus designers obsess over attaining true perfection in their work – work that is never complete.

Technically speaking, the new LS isn’t completely new – as evident from the rear seat area, wheelbase, overall dimensions, and styling of the vehicle’s midsection.  But that’s where the similarities stop.  Just one look at the new LS and you’ll realize that this vehicle is more than just your ordinary luxury flagship – it’s something truly special.  Up front is where the party’s at, and Lexus designers spared no expense beautifully sculpting the new front fascia, and the new F Sport model as absolutely menacing.  Just when you thought that Lexus ultimate expression of luxury and engineering excellence couldn’t have a muscular side – you realize how wrong you are when you behold the athletic nature of the LS F Sport.  Based on the standard LS 460, the F Sport features a sport-tuned suspension, visual upgrades inside and out, paddle shifters, and most importantly – a true Torsen limited-slip rear differential.  Not even the big German sports sedans have that.

The new 2013 Lexus LS should arrive in dealer showrooms in November.  Be sure to check back for more info on the new LS as it becomes available.  Until then, browse our high-resolution photo gallery below and check out the embedded videos, too.
